Newcastle Monitoring Four Chelsea Players

|

Newcastle United have asked to be kept up to date on the future of four Chelsea players according to The Telegraph.

The Magpies have been linked to several Chelsea players recently and it seems an interest remains in easing Chelsea’s financial burden, at least in terms of wages.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, Conor Gallagher, Christian Pulisic and Armando Broja are the players in question. Eddie Howe needs at least two more faces before the window shuts on 3rd September, and will only be able to loan one player from Chelsea due to Premier League rules.

It is reported that Chelsea have also submitted another bid for Everton’s Anthony Gordon, who, if he arrives at Stamford Bridge would likely push Hudson-Odoi, Gallagher and Pulisic further down the pecking order, paving the way for their exit. It is with this in mind that Dan Ashworth has asked Chelsea to be informed immediately if they decide to let any of the above leave west London.

With Newcastle’s tight budget and wage structure, it’s likely that if a loan deal could be agreed for Pulisic or Hudson-Odoi, Chelsea would have to cover a portion of the wages which could make a deal difficult.

If we were able to take any two of the four players eyed, it would drastically change the look of the team and give us so many more options. Saturday highlighted how weak our squad is when it comes to players who can turn a game on its head. Whether the new signings went straight into the starting eleven or stayed on the bench, the change in dynamics any substitutions could make would be far better than what we can do now, which is seemingly bringing off Allan Saint-Maximin and replacing him with Jacob Murphy.
