It seems like the Magpies are determined to take someone from Chelsea this summer and aren’t willing to go beyond £40m for anybody, however, with the likes of Conor Gallagher we might find ourselves heading into the loan market as the youngster might be deemed as too good of a prospect to be allowed to leave permanently.
22-year-old Gallagher spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace and was absolutely phenomenal for the London club, earning himself four England caps as a result.

As good as Gallagher is, he finds himself fourth choice at Chelsea with Thomas Tuchel saying that Gallagher will have to “fight” for his place this season, later going on to open the door to a loan move, according to The Chronicle.
Newcastle maintain an interest in Gallagher’s teammate, Callum Hudson-Odoi who is in a similar position to that of Gallagher. To get either player whether permanent or on loan, would definitely improve the outlook of our squad which currently lacks any real options. It was extremely apparent yesterday that our bench simply isn’t strong enough. We don’t have the depth to be able to bring somebody off the bench and turn a game on its head. That is exactly what the likes of Gallagher or Hudson-Odoi would bring.
