Steve Bruce will remain as Head Coach of Newcastle United despite the ever growing animosity towards him, according to the Telegraph.

According to the report written by Luke Edwards, there have been a series of talks at the training ground today with managing director Lee Charnley present but there is no appetite for a change of boss at this point.

This comes the same day that a survey ran by the Chronicle saw 95% of fans vote that they think Bruce should be sacked and only 4% of people that filled it out saying that they believe United will stay in the division if Bruce keeps his job.

As per usual, Newcastle have shown themselves to be completely and utterly useless and their point blank refusal to be slightly proactive is why there is not a single club that deserves relegation as much as us.

What Lee Charnley, Mike Ashley or any of their cronies have seen to warrant this decision is beyond me. Two wins in 20, a 10 point gap reduced to two in no time at all and a club seemingly gagging for their third relegation in 13 years.

If the club were to sack the failing Head Coach, they would reportedly have to shell out £4M in compensation to the former Sunderland boss and we all know how tight the Sport Direct supremo is with his cash.

Refusing to get rid of Bruce absolutely smacks of arrogance. A bid to save £4M whereas in actual fact keeping him is likely to knock at least £100M off the value of the club that Ashely is so desperate to get rid of.

The only possible explanation is they believe the EFL’s owners and directors test will be a doddle in comparison to the Premier League’s version.

Bruce has on numerous times put on record that he will not step away and why would he? He has £4M potentially coming his way and with some of the decisions he’s made lately it seems he is desperate for his pay off.

With Bruce going nowhere, the pressure is now even more so on the impact that Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin can have on their return to the squad.
