Newcastle Waxing Lyrical About Brazilian

|

The Magpies seem to be once again turning to Brazil for their attacking options following the collapse of a deal for Moussa Diaby.

Eddie Howe will now compete with Tottenham, Chelsea and Spurs for Leeds winger, Raphinha to add some danger down the flanks, but there are fears that Newcastle will be priced out of a move and are keeping a close eye on the approaches made by the London clubs.

This is according to The Express who claim that Newcastle have held talks with Leeds officials regarding a move for the Brazilian winger who has impressed during his time at Leeds.

The report goes on to suggest that Newcastle refused to meet Leverkusen’s £45m valuation of Moussa Diaby but may find Leeds asking for £65m for Raphinha. Whether Newcastle would see value in that extra £20m is unlikely and would likely put a stop to this story before it really starts.

Ideally, Who Would You Like At Newcastle, Diaby or Raphinha?

However, the fact remains, Newcastle are looking for a new winger and a striker, and there’s a lot of talk in the media that Newcastle’s budget for this window is already running low. How accurate those claims are remains to be seen, especially as we are still being linked to players with valuations over £50m every day. As we have said before, we can’t be both skint AND the richest club in the world. We can’t be out of funds and “the only club who could afford Neymar”.
