With the Botman deal all but done, Newcastle will now turn their attention further up the field.
One player who has been linked with the Magpies for weeks now is Moussa Diaby. The powerful French winger is now said to be Newcastle’s “top target” this summer, however, while Diaby is open to a move away from Bayer Leverkusen, it’s believed his has “no intention” of moving to Newcastle, leaving the door open for a move to French champions, Paris Saint-Germain.
This is according to Patrick Berger of SPORT1, This will come as a huge blow to Eddie Howe, but after seeing the tenacity of the board when it came to the Sven Botman deal, it wouldn’t be too much of a shock to see some sort of moment on this one in the future.
Moussa Diaby is the top target for Newcastle United. #NUFC set to pay €35-40m for the Frenchman. Leverkusen demanding way more then €60m. I am told player is open for a move but has no intention to go to Newcastle. The winger is also on the list of Paris Saint-Germain. @SPORT1

Hopefully, if the interest is indeed real, we aren’t dragged into another long, drawn-out saga like the Botman and Ekitike deals.
