Wearables Updates: New Kit. New Sponsor

|

Last night, while everyone was constantly refreshing the NUFC Twitter,NUFC Twitter feed expecting the official announcement of Sven Botman, a new tweet pinged up announcing a new sleeve sponsor for the upcoming season.

Saudi company noon.com will be sported on the sleeves of all kits for the new campaign, and while the deal may well be a lucrative one, the actual logo on the sleeve is horrendous. Instantly ruining the kit. A big, bright yellow square with the “Noon” logo in black.

The Club’s Official site released a statement announcing the partnership and in it was an explanation of who Noon.com are: “Operating online and via its hugely popular app, noon.com is the region’s (Middle East) leading digital e-commerce platform for fashion, electronics, beauty, groceries, home and baby products.”

However, the NUFC Twitter feed wasn’t done there, dropping the news that the new third kit is now available to order, inevitably all of the replies were more focused on “Announce Sven Botman!”. However, the odd reply focused on the actual kit were mostly positive as the “Saudi Kit” was officially unveiled.

A leaked image from the kit already in Sports Direct stores (again) suggested that there was a hidden detail on the front of the shirt which was confirmed in the wording on the NUFC Store: “Crafted from lightweight and high-stretch materials that offer exceptional ease of movement and breathability. With a tonal map of Newcastle printed on the front of the kit, representing the club’s past, present and future are deeply connected to this city.”
