Migtober Confirmed As Miggy Picks Up Another Award

|

After picking up the club’s player of the month award for October, Miguel Almiron has added to his own personal trophy cabinet with the EA Sports Premier League Player Of The Month.

It was pretty inevitable that Almiron would pick up this award given his form throughout the month. He outscored Haaland which should make him a shoo-in for the award on its own.

Speaking to NUFC TV on picking up the award, Miggy said: “I’m really, really happy at receiving this award. It’s lovely on a personal note, and a very nice moment for me to win something like this as a player, but it’s about the team”

Once again showing the dynamic that Eddie Howe has in place at the club that even when an individual stands out as much as Almiron did, the first thing he does is to credit his teammates.

On why he thinks he’s scored so many goals this season Almiron put it down to the feeling of starting with a clean slate: “I think this season, we started out almost with a clean slate. We started playing football in a different style, a different way, a different manner. I think that the way in which we the manager has asked us to play we feel a lot more confident – not just me but the whole team as well.”

Miggy has already bagged one goal in November away at Southampton and has just one more game this month to continue his streak with Chelsea visiting St James’ Park on Saturday, the last game before the World Cup. Hopefully, he can also pick up where he left off in December.
