Our Gaffer Scoops Monthly Award For October

|

Much like Miguel Almiron, it was fairly inevitable that Eddie Howe would pick up the EA Sports Premier League Manager Of The Month award for October.

Picking up five wins and a draw from six games in October is no mean feat in itself, but to do so with your team scoring 20 goals in the process and only leaking four in reply is a phenomenal achievement. Howe was up against esteemed competition for the award with Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta in the running too. However, it was always going to be Howe who could be said to be over-achieving this season.

Eddie Howe is never one to covet personal glory so posed with his entire backroom staff with the award to show how it’s not all just down to him. A mark of class from our Gaffer who just continues to impress.

With just one more game before the World Cup, Eddie Howe will be hoping to mark the occasion with a win over a “big six” team to cement their place in the league. Newcastle currently sit third in the league and can only drop to fourth if things go awry at the weekend.

If someone had told you that we’d be top four going into the World Cup you’d have laughed in their face, and yet, here we are and it truly is a testament to the hard work Eddie and his team have put in since they arrived.
