Reports abroad have linked Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez with a move for SPAL defender Francesco Vicari.
The transfer rumour comes from Calciomercato and I’m not even sure you can describe it as a press report as there’s barely even 30 words to it, but it’s still gained a fair amount of traction on social media and has been taken seriously by some.
I just can’t see it happening myself but with that said, at 24-years-old, added to the fact that SPAL are now competing in Serie A following their promotion to the Italian top-flight in 2017, when you look at the rumour from that angle it’s not that extreme that he’d have featured in our scouting reports.
At least for those Newcastle fans who took the time to react on social media, the suggestion hasn’t filled them with any joy as obviously the biggest single problem we have so far in the Premier League campaign of 2018/19 is scoring goals at the other end and we have some options defensively.
he'll be worth £7m and we'll put a bid in of 600k
