When the game finally finished, and if you are a football connoisseur you would have been pleased as punch if you avoided the long trip down to Southampton yesterday. I fact I’ll go as far to say, if you were part of the 30,000 plus St, Mary’s Stadium crowd I genuinely sympathise with you for having to endure what turned out to be a goalless bore draw.

Not a single shot on target and partly two corners, wow, no wonder Saints keeper Alex McCarthy had the time during the 90 plus minutes to sit down on the penalty sport, compose a symphony and then pop home to do the washing up and still back in time for the final whistle.
