Tielemans Back In Newcastle’s Sights With Backroom Staffer Key To A Deal

|

Rumours are growing that Newcastle’s interest in Belgian midfielder, Youri Tielemans hasn’t subsided since the summer and that the Magpies may return with a bid in January.

Tielemans is now in the last year of his contract at the King Power Stadium and it looks likely that he’s set his sights on leaving Leicester. Leicester will likely prefer to get some form of a fee for the midfielder and may opt to cash in on him in January rather than lose him for free at the end of the season.

This is why The Chronicle think that Newcastle will go in with a £15m bid in January armed with a secret weapon in coach, Graeme Jones who worked alongside Tielemans in the Belgian setup.

Youri Tielemans is an immense talent and if we were able to bring him to St James Park for just £15m that would be insane and likely the bargain of the season, especially given that he’s still only 25. Arsenal also held an interest in Tielemans, but whether that remains is unsure, especially given their form at the start of the season, Arteta may think he’s pretty set.

You Can Only Take One...

Youri Tielemans

James Maddison

The Belgian’s record at Leicester since joining them from AS Monaco for £40m is outstanding; 25 goals and 25 assists in 166 games. That’s definitely the type of player we need at the minute.

Ideally, Tilemans would be one of a double-swoop on the Foxes in January with James Maddison also wanted by Eddie Howe. Both players will definitely have their eye on the exit door at the East Midlands club as they are currently rooted to the foot of the Premier League table.
