These Newcastle Fans Want This Man To Step Up Following October International Break

|

Newcastle United defender Fabian Schar was in action for his country Switzerland this October international break and even though they lost out 2-1 to Belgium in their Nations League tie, they ended with a victory over Iceland and a number of fans want to see manager Rafa Benitez give the 26-year-old another shot in the Premier League.

Following his reported £3million arrival from Deportivo over the summer, he has only made two appearances for us so far, with one of those coming in the top-flight against Chelsea, and even before fans learned that Ciaran Clark was potentially out this weekend with injury, they felt a switch in the backline would be to our benefit as we go in search of our second victory of the year.

Having to taken to social media to send his message after the 2-1 win, plenty of fans were quick to respond with what they wanted to see on Saturday as we face Brighton and Hove Albion.

If Clark is out, Schar’s chances improve but the gaffer might well think a change is in order anyway – despite the narrow margin on goals we’ve been losing by so far this year.
