These Newcastle Fans Are Backing Loan Swoop For 28 Year Old Despite Bid Rejection

|

The Daily Telegraph are reporting that we have had an “ambitious” loan bid rejected by West Brom for Salomon Rondon.

A story by TEAMTalk on Monday suggested that we had offered to take the 28-year-old on a season-long loan, including paying £4m up front, with a £15million purchase option.

When asked about the bid before the offer was reportedly turned down, a majority of supporters thought that a loan deal would be a good option:

It seems likely that the Baggies will only accept a permanent transfer. The player has a release clause of £16.5m, and they are keen for a club to activate it so they can get the Venezuelan off the wage bill.

The Chronicle believe that we will offer the buyout fee once Aleksandar Mitrovic’s sale to Fulham is finalised. A £20m switch to Craven Cottage is believed to be getting closer, but as of yet, the Serbian’s departure has not been confirmed.
