Newcastle Linked With Surprise Offer For Misfiring Belgian International

|

The club are interested in signing Liverpool striker Divock Origi on a permanent basis, according to journalist Oliver Bond.

The Belgian international was reportedly on Rafa Benitez’s radar last summer before the forward made a season-long loan move to Wolfsburg.

He struggled during his time in Germany, scoring just seven goals in 37 appearances, although he was part of a team who only narrowly avoided relegation through a playoff.

Origi has returned to Merseyside to be part of Liverpool’s pre-season preparations but looks to be well down the pecking order, and his departure this summer is looking likely.

However, with the club focused on signing Salomon Rondon, I doubt our interest in the 23-year-old is concrete. He may have been considered as an alternative to the Venezuelan with Rafa having looked at the Belgian in the past.

Personally, if it is a straight choice between the pair I would go for the Baggies striker. Who do you think we should sign? Let me know in the poll:
