Manager ‘Confident’ He Is Seen Off Turkish Club To Land £20m Newcastle Hitman

|

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic is “confident” that the Cottagers have seen off a late bid from Fenerbahce to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to the Evening Standard.

Reports had indicated that the Turkish club were keen to swoop in for the Serbian international, but it seems the London club are now close to securing the 23-year-old’s signature.

Mitro’s move down South has been a protracted one, both because of the World Cup and Fulham’s initial refusal to meet our valuation for the striker.

However, there seems to have been a breakthrough, with the Standard reporting a bid “close to £20m” will likely see the Serbian move on a permanent basis to Slavisa Jokanovic’s side.

It is believed that once we have sold Mitrovic, we will quickly make a move to snap up West Brom’s Salomon Rondon. We have already had a loan bid for the Venezuelan rejected, reports the Telegraph, but a permanent transfer will be agreed if the club triggers the forward’s £16.5m release clause.
