Steve Bruce could leave Newcastle at the end of the season

|

The unpopular Steve Bruce may have led Newcastle United to Premier League safety but his future remains unclear on Tyneside with a string of reports stating that he may not be in the dugout at St. James’ Park for the start of next season.

In the Telegraph, Luke Edwards reports that there is to be a series of meetings which are likely to include a conversation between Mike Ashley and the Magpies’ Head Coach which will go a long way to deciding if the club are to stick with their failing boss or are going to be on the look out for a new Head Coach ahead of the 2021/22 to season.

Bruce showed why he will struggle to win round the Newcastle fans with his ridiculous comments made on TalkSPORT about the expectations of the supporters and the recent upturn in form does not mean people will be quick to forget about the shocking run that came before it, as United managed a pathetic two wins from 21 games. Nor does it mean fans will forget the utterly turgid nonsense that has been inflicted on us since his appointment.

Even if Ashley and co think Bruce is the right man for the job, they should get rid of him. They need to realise the extent of the distaste felt toward the former Manchester United defender and make a decision that would mean that when fans can return to St. James’ Park on mass, there is more of a feel good factor around the place than there is at present.

He has said on multiple occasions that he is not going to walk away from the job but according to a report in the Times, that is exactly what he may do.

Any news of a change of manager/ Head Coach would be greatly appreciated on Tyneside and there is a resounding feeling amongst the fanbase that it would be for the benefit of all involved.
