Newcastle have been so impressed by trialist Florent Indalecio that they are now contemplating whether or not to keep the 23-year-old, a report from Actu Foot has claimed.

Reports emerged earlier this summer revealing that Indalecio, who has been playing lower level football in France and Australia since being let go by Saint Etienne as a teenager for self-confessed bad behviour, is now on trial at St James’ Park, and it seems the attacker is making quite an impact at St James’ Park.

According to the latest reports, Indalecio has impressed so much during training and in friendly games, that the Magpies have now kept him on trial longer than they initially planned to.

Indeed, it is thought that the player is now at a point where he is waiting to find out whether or not he is going to be offered a contract by the Premier League club.

However, even if Indalecio does not secure a contract with Newcastle, it seems that may not be the end of his English football dream, with several unnamed League One clubs said to be interested in the possibility of signing the attacker.

You have to admire Indalecio for his determination and ability to make such an impression at Newcastle, and you have to feel that that ought to be tempting the Magpies to take a chance on the attacker.

It could even be argued that they could hand him a contract, before sending him out on loan to one of those League One clubs, to see if he really can cope with the challenges of regular first-team football.

If he is successful with that, then it could be worth giving him an extended chance at St James’, but if not, then they could let him go without much of a financial loss, given he is currently available as a free agent.
