Newcastle United left-back Paul Dummett picked up an injury during the November international break during the Welsh clash with Denmark in the Nations League and he subsequently missed out on their friendly with Albania.
With the 27-year-old featuring ten times for us in the Premier League campaign of 2018/19 he’s clearly manager Rafa Benitez’s preferred option on the left side of defence and with him now being out of contention as we prepare for the game against Burnley at Turf Moor on Monday, there’s already been plenty of discussion about who gets the nod to replace.
The player himself took to social media this week to speak about his disappointment at picking up what most hope is only a short-term knock and nothing more serious.
Gutted to come off for @fawales on Friday working hard to come back as soon as possible 💪🏼 https://t.co/j3hqersmiy

Reacting to his Tweet, whilst there were plenty of messages wishing him a speedy recovery there was also an undertone that questioned if he knew the severity already given how vague the message actually was.
Get better Paul! Sending good vibes from Canada ????????. We need you if we’re going to survive this season… and it’s great that one of the best LBs in the PL is a Geordie boy who plays for #NUFC

The Instagram version of his message was a little bit more direct on the concern front.
