Mehrdad Ghodoussi: “Patience Is A Virtue”

|

Newcastle United co-owner, Mehrdad Ghodoussi has taken to Twitter to try to quell fans’ fears as the club appears to be taken for a ride when it comes to transfers.

Replying to a now-deleted tweet, relating to the slow movement in the transfer market, Mehrdad Ghodoussi replied with a simple “Patience is a virtue”.

Obviously, that doesn’t give much away, it could mean that signings are coming, or it could be related to specific players. We could speculate all day about the meaning behind tweets, but it’s not going to help anyone move forward. Nor is bombarding the owners with tweets born out of frustration. We know they’re working hard, we know this because we’ve seen their passion, we know their plans, it’s extremely unlikely that they’re taking their foot off the gas already. It’s still early days in the window. Keep the faith.

The owners being so active on twitter is definitely a double-edged sword, it’s fantastic that they interact with the fans, but it does open them up to a lot of potential abuse or frustrated fans voicing their concerns maybe without thinking things through. Let’s take a minute before we badger poor Mehrdad. He’s doing his job and we have to trust in the regime … as alien as that thought is to fans after the previous 14 years.
