Meet the fans-Whitey

|

My Toon Journey started started in the womb circa 1992. My grandad Alan Russell was a die hard Newcastle supporter and some of my earliest memories are of him sat next to his radio listening to the match with his earphones in. Even the water jug had a NUFC badge on it!

Growing up in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire has made it difficult to visit the Cathedral on the hill as frequently as I would like to, but I make it up to the toon as often as i can to see my family, often coinciding with a match day. The most recent of which being Spurs in the first game under the new regime, which I was lucky enough to buy tickets for while we were still under the tenure of Mike Ashley unaware of the impending takeover.

Favourite player of all time (shearer aside) would be Nobby or Lauren Robert, loved seeing them play in their prime. In the current era my favourite player would have to be big Joe for his turnaround under Eddie, and partially for the guilt that I feel for slating him as a forward during the Bruce era, lets hope he continues his metamorphosis and become a legend.

Aside from the Estadio da Luz which I just visited to watch us play Benfica,  my favourite away ground was the Kassam stadium (Oxford United, FA Cup 2019) as we terrorised them for only having 3 stands, we won by a St Maxi banger in extra time and a lad performed an infamous helicopter manoeuvre.

All in all the toon is part of my blood and I will thoroughly enjoy the meteoric rise we have in store for us, let  the good times roll.

Up Next……….Newcastle make improved Offer
