Newcastle have had a number of cult heroes over the years but one that stands out in the memory is former winger Laurent Robert.
He made 175 appearances for us in the Bobby Robson era and his wand of a left foot won’t be forgotten any time soon, particularly if he continues his current online presence.
The 44-year-old showed that he still likes to test out his skills with a football by posting a snap on Instagram, but the photo also showed something else that made Newcastle fans take note.

The Magpies’ shorts on display show there is still love for the club from the Frenchman, which is perhaps unsurprising given he represented us more than any other team in his career.
Will you be disappointed if the club isn't taken over?
Yes
No
However, a significant amount of time has passed since he exited St. James’ Park, which shows we had a long-lasting impression on him, enough to ensure a connection still exists.
Moreover, he played for us in a successful period, too, as we made the second phase of the Champions League group stage in 2002/03.
Robert will be remembered for his clinical free-kicks and bullet shot power, and hopefully we see a few more former players express such a feeling for Newcastle, as fans certainly love seeing it.
Still a dreamboat as well I see 😍
