Newcastle will look to sell four members of their senior squad in the current transfer window, The Daily Telegraph reporter Luke Edwards has claimed.

The Magpies have been busy in the current market in terms of incomings this summer, with Callum Wilson and Jamal Lewis representing big money buys, while Jeff Hendrick, Ryan Fraser and Mark Gillespie have also joined the club.

Now it seems as though Newcastle are not closed for business in the current market, either in terms of incomings or outgoings.

According to Edwards’ latest update, the club are still looking to sign a striker and a centre back this summer, with loan signings seemingly not ruled out to fill those roles.

It is thought that the club are willing to sell four players – Christian Atsu, Henri Saivet, Rolando Aarons and DeAndre Yedlin – in order to fund those signings.

Given the desire for further recruitment, it does make sense for Newcastle to try and raise some funds for those signings by sanctioning these sales, and you can understand this quartet being on the market.

Aarons and Saivet have never really established themselves during their time at St James’ Park, while Atsu and Yedlin have struggled to make quite as much of an impact in recent years, meaning they may not necessarily by missed by Steve Bruce’s side.

Even so, they do still have the ability required to command a decent fee for Newcastle to put towards their future signings, and it will be interesting to see just who they can bring to the club with whatever money they might make from those potential sales.
