Howe Looking At Watford Striker

|

Another name has entered the frame as a potential striker to join the fold at Newcastle in the form of Watford’s young Brazilian Joao Pedro.

The young striker will likely be looking for a move following Watford’s relegation but the Hornets will demand between €30m-€40m according to The Hard Tackle.

This one definitely seems like one to take with the biggest pinch of salt you can get your hands on, especially given Joao Pedro’s poor goals return last season. With only four goals from 29 games, it’s hard to see how he would be an improvement on the current crop.

That being said, he is only 20 so has plenty of room to grow whereas you could argue the likes of Chris Wood has peaked. It would be Joao Pedro’s movement across the front line that would be seen as the main reason to bring him to Newcastle if they were to make a move.

Only racking up one assist last season, the stats definitely don’t make him look like an exciting prospect on paper, however he was in a very lacklustre Watford side so maybe didn’t have much of an opportunity to show what he’s capable of.

West Ham are also potentially interested in the forward, but if the £30m asking price is to be believed, it would  be a shock to see either club making the move.
