Lots of Newcastle United fans have responded to the reports on Twitter which suggest Olivier Giroud is going to be joining Inter Milan.

According to reports in the Chronicle, the Serie A club are prepared to offer him terms until the summer of 2022, which very much appeals to the Frenchman.

The story goes onto state that the World Cup winner had snubbed a series of offers from the Premier League – including coming to St James’ Park – to go to Milan.

He will supposedly cost Inter £3.4m, an understandably small fee given his contract expires at the end of the season and that he is on some big wages.

Would you back a move for Giroud this month?

Giroud will now be competing with Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez for one of the two striker positions in Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system.

When the Chronicle’s twitter page posted a story about why Giroud is going to Inter rather than the Magpies, lots of fans replied saying that it was hardly surprising given the state of the club at the moment.

Despite these reports, Frank Lampard has come out and said no deal is yet agreed with Inter.

The Chelsea manager said that “nothing is done yet” and that his “agent has spoken to the club”, however, he said nothing is yet completed.

He went onto add what a great professional he has been despite his lack of first-team opportunities.
