Many Newcastle fans have been reacting in delight to the departure of Jack Colback.
Manager Steve Bruce revealed in his media briefing that the 30-year-old is surplus to requirements at St James’ Park, along with Jamie Sterry, which NUFC 360 shared on Twitter.
After being released by arch-rivals Sunderland in 2014, Colback made the trip to Newcastle on a free transfer.
During that time, he has scored five goals and provided 10 assists in 102 appearances for the club, as well as serving a loan spell at Nottingham Forest.
Will you miss Jack Colback?
Yes
No
Colback previously took a brave pill by criticising beloved previous manager Rafa Benitez, which did not go down well with the Toon Army.
With this in mind, supporters were happy to see the back of the “Ginger Pirlo” and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan simply stated “good riddance”, while another described him as “bang average”.
Best wishes to Jamie sterry good riddance to the ginger Mackem

So Jack Colback has been shown the door. Mad to think the Mackems rated him highly at one point & some of our fans even dubbed him “Ginger Pirlo” after earning an England call-up. Always thought he was bang average & he certainly won’t be missed 👍🏼 https://t.co/UFsSmrtPLp
