Lots of Newcastle fans have hit back on Twitter after pundit Tony Cascarino stated that new signing Danny Rose is not the player he was.
The 29-year-old joined the club on loan until the end of the season, joining to try and rack up as much first-team football to try and secure a place in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 squad.
While speaking on the radio, the former Republic of Ireland international claimed that, due to injuries, he has lost ‘that half a yard’ of pace which he claims makes him not quite as good.
The Chronicle later published a story based on the ex-Chelsea player’s comments and posted it on their Twitter page.
Do you think Danny Rose is past his best?
Not sure yet, let him get up and running
Yes, but that's to be expected at 29
Nope, he still has some room to grow
With many fans not particularly happy with the words on Rose, they responded to the tweets weighing in with their say.
Here are some of the replies below…
TalkSport talk negatively about Newcastle United? Surely not..

Talksport know absolutely nothing about sport let alone Newcastle united or our players…they are just a provacative radio show trying to get callers…nothing more. Drama queens who know jack.

well we aren’t the team we once were so he’ll improve us a bit. plus we’re very limited at LB. give him a chance.

These sort of comments really do my head in . Of course heβs not otherwise heβd still be in the Spurs starting line up. At Newcastle he gets a new challenge and a chance to try to recapture his form and that suits both parties. Move on, nothing to see here π€¨

So far this season, Rose has played 13 times in the Premier League and four times in the Champions League.
He made his Premier League debut for the club against Norwich in their last league game and is likely to feature in their next outing against Arsenal in a week’s time.
