Plenty of Newcastle United fans on Twitter have discussed on Twitter whether Cenk Tosun should have come to the club in the summer.
Following an opinion piece in the Chronicle Live from reporter Ciaran Kelly, their Newcastle dedicated Twitter handle shared the story, to which plenty of fans responded to.
Within the article, Kelly discusses how the club opted against signing the player as they did not believe that he would immediately improve their frontline, despite the fact the only striker to have scored a Premier League goal for them all season is Joelinton, who has featured in 26 games and only has one goal.
Allegedly, the club were satisfied with his Premier League appearances, however, they didn’t think he could make this Newcastle team any better.
Should we have signed Cenk Tosun?
Nope
Yes
Not sure
Most United fans seem to agree, as you can read below, though there were a few who would have liked to see him come in.
Here are some of the replies below…
He is better than anything we have at present@so Bruce’s reasoning makes no sense. There again a fair bit of what he says generally makes little sense.

Whilst Lee Charnley wastes another fortune on players the manager doesn’t know? Happened with McClaren and it’s happening all over again.

We certainly needed someone in up top but I don’t think tosun was the answer.

Cenk Tosun has only played 462 minutes in the league all season, and he already has more goals in the division than Joelinton does with two.
That might not be proof that he is better option, though you must say with their current injuries he probably would be in with a good shout considering Bruce suggested that he needs to improve after his last match.
He has 10 goals in 47 Premier League games, with many coming from the bench, so it’s hard to see how he wouldn’t at least improve the squad.
