With Newcastle failing to add another striker to their ranks in the January transfer window, the rumours have not stopped about potential summer moves.
The latest to be linked is a familiar one to all United fans in Adam Armstrong. The 23-year-old was an academy graduate at the club, and while failing to make an impression on Tyneside, he is now making a bit more of a name for himself in England’s second-tier.
Plenty of supporters had expected the most from the player, but he departed full time in 2018 with a lot to prove.
So far this season, he has added 10 goals from 35 games in all competitions, and this has led to the player being linked back to the Magpies.
The Chronicle mentions their interest within their live blog, but there is no indication as to how much the player could cost.
Despite the previous link between the two parties, many fans do not seem to like the idea of Armstrong returning, with it seeming as if they have bigger ambitions than the forward.

Shame it never worked the first time, had high hopes for him, perhaps a move first was in his best interests and potentially come back and be a decent option, he’s not going to be a no1 choice striker though

It’s no surprise to see the club linked with more attackers considering Joelinton’s one league goal is the only one coming from a striker this season.
Whether or not there is any truth in the rumour remains to be seen. Only time will tell.
