Newcastle United handed themselves a huge boost heading into November’s international break with a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth at St. James’ Park.
After winning at the 11th time of asking in the Premier League last weekend against Watford, the Magpies have now seen confidence raise significantly following their second win in a row – which could prove to be vital.
Newcastle rose to 14th in the table, trebling their tally from their opening 10 games this season, although they still only hold a one-point advantage over the relegation zone.
With two victories, Rafael Benitez’s side have restored some confidence around St. James’ Park and their supporters heaped praise on a number of individual performers from their 2-1 victory against the Cherries.
One of those was Benitez’s Β£6m summer signing Federico Fernandez, who has impressed since arriving from Swansea City and is now one of the first names on the Newcastle teamsheet.
We have gathered some of the best reactions to his latest performance below.
Rondon was a beast yesterday. Exactly what we needed. And less than Β£6m for Federico Fernandez is a steal #nufc

Absolute pleasure watching Newcastle actually try to play football. Rondon put in one of the most complete number 9 performances I've seen at the club since Shearer. Ki was dynamic and creative and Fernandez on current form is the best defender at the club since Woodgate #nufc

Two weeks in a row Fernandez has been man of the match for me. Outstanding again! Was underwhelmed by his signing but proving me wrong! #nufc
