After sealing a loan move back to Barcelona in January, Adama Traore didn’t manage to do enough to secure a permanent switch from Wolves which has alerted Spurs, Leeds and Newcastle.
According to 90min, Newcastle have an interest in bringing Wolves’ explosive winger to St James Park this summer to provide extra firepower up front. This link has been floating around for a few days and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere suggesting there may be an element of truth in this claim.
Traore is entering the last year of his contract at the Midlands club and has already turned down what Wolves believe to be a generous offer, saying that he wants to move on.
Tottenham were close to a deal for the Spaniard in January but talks collapsed and Traore was able to land a move back to the club where he learned his craft. Barcelona had an option to buy installed in the loan deal, but chose not to exercise the clause after failing to hit the heights expected of him at the Camp Nou.
Common sense would suggest that Tottenham would be front runners for a deal given their solid interest in January, whereas Leeds will be looking for a new winger as they look likely to lose Raphina with the Brazilian attracting interest from several clubs.
Quite where Newcastle come into this equation remains to be seen, but don’t be surprised if absolutely nothing comes of this one.
