A lot of Newcastle United fans seem to have given up on the rest of the season and are just waiting for relegation.
Newcastle are nine games into the season and find themselves in 18th place; they have only scored five goals and have suffered some poor results.
Steve Bruce was an unpopular appointment, and the lack of goals and points have not helped him in the popularity stakes.
The season feels very much like the 2015-16 season under Steve McClaren, where the Toon had a talented squad but lacked direction from the boss and were ultimately relegated.
The only difference this season is that Newcastle have some strong characters in the dressing room – while during that season, there was no one willing to stand up and be counted.
There is still a long way to go, and Bruce may turn it around, but at the moment, it is hard to see where the goals are coming from or what the plan is when we concede.
Not exactly two characteristics you associate with a successful team.
Certainly, these Toon fans think that we will be relegated this year.
See the best of the reaction below.
So, we’re a quarter of the way through this season and #nufc sit in the relegation zone. Do you reckon we’ve got what it takes to stay up?

No a championship manager, incompetent unscrupulous owner, chimp as an MD, split fanbase between those that have seen the light and sheep that have not. The perfect recipe for relegation!

I’m not sure why any stats from last year are relevant, it’s this seasons that are the problem. We are in the bottom two of every stat, other than offsides, that the problem. We carry no goal threat, don’t create enough chances & are set up too defensively.

No. Think the writings been on the wall for a while.
Not sure who will stay and who will go when we go down though, the team already feels depleted

Nope , we said nope when Bruce was employed and I’m still saying nope now , the result against spurs was a fluke , Man Utd are crap , so honestly we’re lucky to have the points we have .

Given our inability to score or even making goal scoring chances is a death nail.
We don’t have a fit proven goal scorer at premiership level.— The PFY (@THEPFY2009) October 24, 2019
No. We’ve a medicore Champ manager in charge. You could even put Steve Bruce in charge of Fleetwood and he wouldn’t even get them anywhere near the playoffs.
If we stay it up will be mainly due to the results of other games as opposed to our own.#NUFC #AshleyOut #BruceOut

Not at all. Exact same feeling as when McClaren was here. Throw money at players with a sub par manager. Lovely bloke I’m sure, but so little shots on target and lack of possession.

Sadly no. Only way we’ll stay up is if we brought in a high quality manager with money in Jan window but that won’t happen at #nufc
