Won’t cut it – These Newcastle Fans Are Hoping Club Doesn’t Sanction Bid For 28 Year Old

|

HITC Sport reported on Sunday that we were considering a move for Swansea forward Andre Ayew.

The 28-year-old only re-signed for the Welsh club in January for £18m, but he has been interesting Turkish clubs, including Besiktas.

It is believed Ayew could be targeted as a possible alternative to Alassane Plea, who joined Borussia Monchengladbach last week. The majority of fans polled don’t think the Ghanaian is good enough for the club:

Wales Online are reporting today that we haven’t contacted Swansea about the forward, and I think we can rest easy in the knowledge that we won’t be recruiting the player this summer.

Ayew scored just three goals last season, and with Rafa seeking a prolific striker, a move for the former Marseille and West Ham player just wouldn’t have made sense anyway.

Currently, it seems that another Championship forward, West Brom’s Salomon Rondon, is the club’s main focus as we look to recruit a new striker before the end of the transfer window.
