Newcastle United missed their chance during the window to add another striker amongst the squad, but that hasn’t stopped the rumours.

According to Brazillian outlet Gazete Esportiva, the club joins a long list of teams who are allegedly interested in 19-year-old Marcos Paulo from Fluminense.

The report states that Barcelona, Juventus and CSKA Moscow are all interested in purchasing the youngster, which could quite well make things difficult for the Magpies given the calibre of those clubs.

Chronicle Live, who posted the rumour within their live blog, claims that Fluminense have already snubbed an offer worth £6m from CSKA Moscow, which suggests that any potential transfer is likely to cost upwards of that figure.

Last season, the 24-year-old played 30 games in total for his club, managing to score six goals and register five assists.
