Plenty of Newcastle United fans have had their say on Twitter after talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan weighed in with his opinion on the current takeover.
The former Crystal Palace owner claims that he is doubtful that Amanda Staveley’s attempt to buy the club will come to fruition, stating that the leaks in information about the potential deal are genuine reasons to stop a takeover from happening.
While on talkSPORT, Jordan spoke at great length about the situation, which you can read in full on the Chronicle website.
Will Ashley sell the club this season?
Yes
No
Within his quotes, he disputes that Mike Ashley doesn’t want to sell, and he also claims that he doesn’t think that the figure being brandished around is definitely on the table, suggesting that the leaks have been used as ‘leverage’ to try and force a deal which favours the buying party.
Unsurprisingly, Jordan having solidarity with the United chairman didn’t go down too well with the Toon fans, and many made that abundantly clear on Twitter.
No one cares about this or what Simon thinks

Being a miserable experience for poor, old Mike, has it? Aww, bless him. It’s hardly been a Mardi Gras for us either.

Jordan is fairly balanced most of the time, but this isn’t his finest hour.

Chat has cooled over the past week about the takeover from a Newcastle perspective, but recent reports suggest that the consortium is having a look at West Ham as another potential club to take over.
Whether anything will happen in the coming weeks is unknown, though, given the number of unsuccessful attempts in the past, fans won’t be holding their breath.
