“What was the point in signing him then?” – A lot of Newcastle United fans cannot believe the news that Andy Carroll may not be able to start a game for the club until after Christmas.
A report was released on Tuesday that claimed Carroll was still undergoing rehabilitation for his ankle – so he would be limited to appearances from the bench until January.
The report claims that Newcastle will look to manage Carroll’s workload and try to get him into a position to start a game by the beginning of 2020.
This last injury nearly ended Carroll’s career – so the Newcastle medical team are not prepared to take any risks when it comes to his fitness.
This is not the news that many Newcastle fans had wanted – as the only positive from Saturday was the return of Carroll to the field.
Certainly, these Newcastle fans are furious at this latest update.

Why did we not spend the £31 million left over in the transfer kitty ?.. and we bring a crock in that will be lucky to play 10 games and score a couple ..we could have brought in a proven striker that will start every week ..mike ashley strikes again the greedy fat cockney pig

What an absolute waste. £16m for Rondon who would have been an established player for our team, too much for a 30 year old – but we’re paying for Carroll to sit on his arse?

That’s fine, wasn’t expecting him starting anyway, last 20/30 each game to batter defenders for us to not score or create out else as we have no one to do either
