Newcastle might be doing pretty well in 13th place this season, but the jury is still out over manager Steve Bruce.
In fact, plenty of supporters seem particularly riled up after the Chronicle posted a story about former player Gabby Agbonlahor saying that he was one of his favourite managers.
The former Villa player came out within the press and praised the coach, saying that he was doing a ‘magnificent job’ considering the squad lacks ‘quality’.
While the football hasn’t been very pretty, it’s been rather effective. From 26 games this season they have amounted 31 points, despite scoring just 24 goals.
Are the players developing or regressing under Bruce?
Getting better
Getting worse
Additionally, he and the club have had rotten luck with injuries, with their currently being 12 players from the first-team squad who are out, according to Premier Injuries, and it’s been like that for most of the season.
His side are also into the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2006.
Despite this, fans were not happy about Agbonlahor’s appraisal, as many fans hit back at the Chronicle’s Newcastle Twitter page who tweeted about the story.
Here are some of the replies below…
Bruce has an £80million front 3.
The most expensive Newcastle lineup since promotion.

Scoring our goals on counter attack most of our goals are coming from set pieces and central defenders who aren’t known for their Counter attacking prowess. Another muppet who doesn’t know the first thing about football.

Bruce’s team have a big game coming up against Crystal Palace – a team who is facing similar problems in front of goal.
In fact, they are the only team in the division to have scored fewer goals, so the first one could be decisive in that fixture.
