Rolando Aarons looks destined to leave on loan before the window closes on Friday, according to the Chronicle.
The 22-year-old has been left out of the squad for tonight’s Carabao Cup tie against Nottingham Forest with Rafa Benitez confirming that “two or three” clubs are interested in signing the winger.
Fans on Twitter were debating where it all went wrong for Aarons:
What happened to this kid. So much potential. Looked great when we beat man city in the cup a few years back.

Bad coaching, injuries at the wrong time …

Followed him from a youngster. Looked talented but too slight to make it. Through time and no doubt hard work grew and matured into a great prospect. But then???
Good luck to the lad. Hopefully it’ll all click into place.

Known fact that Rafa doesn’t really give young players any chances except in pre season or desperate

One supporter thinks his mentality is the issue:
He’s had plenty of chances. It’s his mentality that is in question, not his ability

Injuries have certainly played a part, but his lack of discipline off the field has also been an issue. He was given a suspended 10-month jail sentence back in May for a nightclub brawl.
His last game for the first team was in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City last December. He was then sent on loan to Hellas Verona in Italy, but he failed to score a goal or provide an assist in 11 Serie A appearances.
The Mirror reports that Rangers, AEK Athens and Hull City are interested in the player but Benitez has revealed there has been no official approach, at least from the Scottish club.
