What Do We Do With Miggy?

|

Miguel Almiron came to Newcastle as a record signing with a weight of expectation on his shoulders.

Since his arrival it’s hard to tell if we have seen the best of Almiron or if he still has potential to take that next step up in quality. We have seen flashes of brilliance from the Paraguayan, and for all it took him a long time to net his first goal for Newcastle, he eventually went on a decent run of form.

Unfortunately for Miggy, his run of form coincided with the end of the season and the break seemed to reset him back to zero, and he never truly recovered.

One thing that can never be called into question is Almiron’s work rate. The lad covers every blade of grass every time he steps out onto the pitch, however, sometimes it just looks like running for running’s sake with very little to show for it.

The big question is: Has he done enough to earn another shot next season or do we give up and let the £21m man leave while we can still get some cash for him?

Should we move Miggy on this summer?
