The next Newcastle manager will be given a transfer ‘war chest’ of £100million, according to The Daily Star.
They claim the money from the Ayoze Perez sale will be added to the £60million that was promised to Rafa Benitez.
And with Isaac Hayden intent on quitting St James’ Park for personal reasons, the report claims he would leave for no less than £15m, leaving Benitez’ replacement with a sizable budget for next season.
The number could yet still increase if Manchester United do indeed sign Sean Longstaff. With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ‘demanding’ his club sign the midfielder, according to The Sun. They claim Newcastle are requesting at least £25million for the player.
Although The Daily Star suggests the next manager will be handed the transfer kitty, that is contradicted by others. Bleacher Report’s Dean Jones, last week insisted Newcastle’s next boss will not have control of transfers.
And many of the supporters are not convinced the money will be reinvested, some that do believe it, think £100million would only go as far as replacing the players that have left.
Plenty of fans took to Twitter to share their reactions to the news of how much money would be available to the next boss.

We’ll still get relegated with a yes man in charge. Just look at the last time with Schteve Mcclaren…

Let’s not forget we are at least 4 players lighter to date, that “war chest” will only bring the side back to where it was last season.

£100m spread over the next 10 years which also has to include the players wages and agents fees.

So they were prepared to give Rafa a £50-60 million budget, but a new manager £100 million? This club is backwards

The next manager won’t spend a penny of it. It will be spent for him on lots of cheaper, untried players, many of whom will not be suitable for the league or the style he wants to play. It will also include agents fees and wages so won’t look nearly as impressive when spent.
