Newcastle are looking at one of Sven Botman’s former teammates as an attacking option as they eye Club Brugge’s Noa Lang.
The Athletic claim that Lang is currently being watched by Newcastle, however, he is also being sought after by several clubs as, despite not having the best of seasons last time around, clubs are extremely aware of his talent.
23-year-old Lang came through the Ajax academy with Sven Botman and went on to mark his league debut with a hattrick for the Dutch giants. He was loaned out to Club Brugge in 2020/21 and went on to make 29 appearances, scoring 18 goals that season. He made the move permanent at the start of the ’21/22 season but only found the net seven times in 37 games.

Moussa Diaby remains the top target for Eddie Howe and things do appear to be moving in the right direction on that one, albeit very slowly. However, the club are looking at alternatives and if Eddie Howe feels he can get the best out of Lang, there’s a top quality player in there if he can regain his form and get his head on straight.
Some Brugge fans have claimed that Lang was “invisible” last season, which is backed up by his poor goal return compared to the previous season. However, this doesn’t mean that Lang isn’t worth a punt. Many factors could come into play when a player’s form dips, and Howe and his team will do their homework before making a move.
