These Newcastle Fans Are Keen On Club Making £30m Swoop For 22-year-old Wide Man

|

It is believed that we have been in negotiations with Kenedy’s club Chelsea since April about securing a permanent deal for the player, but it seems the likeliest scenario is bringing him on a season-long loan.

It appears as though the Blues would only sanction the move if we agree to a hefty fee at the end of next season. The Northern Echo have reported in recent days that the club will have to pay £30m for the 22-year-old.

It’s a lot of money for a player who did impress during his six months at St James’ Park but has yet to play a full campaign in the first team in the Premier League. I decided to gauge fan opinion about whether we should look to offer such a sizeable amount.

As you can see, the majority were prepared to back the club breaking their transfer record for Kenedy:

There’s no doubt that the Brazilian had an excellent loan spell at the club. His two goals and two assists in 13 starts doesn’t tell the full story. He was excellent on the left-hand side of midfield. I do wonder whether Mike Ashley would ever sanction such a sizeable bid. Would you spend £30m on Kenedy? Let me know in the comments.
