These Newcastle Fans Are Divided On Who Should Lead The Line Against Cardiff

|

Joselu certainly laid down a marker with his performance against Spurs on the opening day. In the long term, Salomon Rondon looks likely to be the first choice to lead the line, but the Spaniard has made it harder for Rafa Benitez to leave him out.

It will be interesting to see who the manager opts to start against Cardiff at the weekend. When I asked fans about who should start in Wales, the former Stoke striker just edged it ahead of our new signing:

Some may argue that Joselu wasn’t in the game that much on Saturday but his two major contributions were extremely important. He escaped his marker to head in Matt Ritchie’s cross to make it 1-1, and delivered a superb through ball to give Kenedy a great chance to make it 2-2.

Rondon certainly made his own case for starting after coming on in the second half. His deflected effort hit the Spurs bar, but I am probably with the slim majority who think our no.21 deserves to keep his place.
