It hasn’t been a season of many highs for Newcastle, but the emergence of Sean Longstaff has certainly been huge for the Magpies. Indeed, Rafael Benitez has found a real gem in the 21-year-old, and with every passing week, he seems to be getting better and better.
The midfield lynchpin is strong and powerful in the middle of the park, whilst he’s also capable with the ball at his feet. In truth, you could argue that over the course of the season he’s been one of our most consistent players, and that’s a testament to his sheer natural ability.

That’s certainly the case, as he’s earned his chance through sheer force of will and form, and unsurprisingly, Newcastle fans have used this opportunity to heap further praise on Longstaff. See what they’ve said below, including a reference to former Man Utd man Michael Carrick:
Couple of really nice lads with their feet firmly on the ground @NorthShieldsFC

He’s quality, gets stuck in but gets his head up, such a young lad but a great head on his shoulders, last few games (since Xmas) he’s been the equivalent of another decent signing for Rafa. If we’d paid £15m and got some1 in with his quality we would all be singing his praises

Yes he’s playing good especially with Newcastle being under pressure to produce a result every game. How long before he’s sold though this with regard to NUFC’s past history!!
