Many Newcastle supporters have been reacting on social media to one fan’s grim assessment of events unfolding on Tyneside.
The fan in question, NUFC 360, shared on Thursday that we are now two weeks away from next season’s Premier League fixtures being announced, and yet we are no closer to knowing whether Rafa Benitez will still be in charge of the club come the end of June.
With no security over the man at the helm, the club cannot go about tackling the transfer market either, as a new head coach will likely demand different targets to our current Spanish gaffer, and may favour some of the fringe stars wasting away at St James’ Park.
That also goes for players coming to the club. Some of our rumoured targets may be elatedly anticipating arriving on Tyneside to work under Benitez, but their feelings may rapidly change if a different manager is instilled.
There is also the speculation that we are about to be bought by Sheikh Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nahyan – in a deal thought to be worth £350million – but we have gone close to saying our goodbyes to Mike Ashley in the past and he is, currently, still in control.
So, when NUFC 360 shared that the Premier League fixtures are announced in two weeks while so much is still unclear, here’s how some Newcastle fans reacted…
Also, Diame out of contract, Hayden desperate to leave, Perez surely gone if Rafa doesn’t stay, Rondon anything but a NUFC player, Jonjo likely to be sold…still, at least we have Joselu. #SilverLining

Inter Milan have also just sacked their manager, there’s only so many clubs Rafa can afford to turn down. He won’t wait forever #nufc

We’ve had more communication from this new group in the last 4 days than we’ve had from Ashley in the last 2 years

We’ve been at this point knowing that it is Steve McClaren and Mike Ashley so let’s see this as progress and an opportunity ⬛️⬜️⬛️⬜️⬛️
