A big few months are on the horizon for Newcastle United. Not only have the Magpies got to ensure their Premier League survival, but a few major personnel decisions are also going to be forthcoming.
Of course, much of the discourse is likely to be dominated by the future of Rafa Benitez, whose contract is up at the end of the season, but he’s not the only man that could be about to leave St. James’ Park on a free.
Indeed, Mo Diame’s contract also expires at the end of the season, and as per Sky Sports, he’s said that its up to Newcastle as to whether he stays.
He said: “They know I want to stay. But it’s not about me, it is about the club and what they want to do. I am focused on the job of staying up and there will be time in the summer to think about this.
He continued: “I am happy here, that’s what I can say. If I can stay I will stay, but if I have to go, I will go. It won’t be a problem.”
