Take a Chance – These Newcastle Fans Want Rafa To Take A Gamble On England International

|

With the club missing out on Alassane Plea after the Frenchman completed his move to Borussia Monchengladbach, there has been a lot of talk about who we will go after next in our quest for a new striker.

West Brom’s Salomon Rondon seems to be the favourite, but the fact that we haven’t triggered his £16.5m despite having the whole summer to do so, suggests that Rafa is not too keen on the Venezuelan international.

The Chronicle suggested Tammy Abraham’s name on Twitter as a possible alternative. The England international was on our radar last season before he moved to Swansea on loan. I decided to poll fans about whether we should go back in for 20-year-old, and they are decidedly split on whether we should put in a bid:

To be honest, the forward didn’t pull up any trees with the Swans, having scored only five goals. There were some mitigating circumstances in that he wasn’t a regular starter and he was playing for a struggling side, but for me, he didn’t show enough to prove he was Premier League quality.

What do you think? Is Abraham good enough for us? Let me know in the comments.
