Newcastle United took a much needed and long-awaited victory in the weekend’s clash with Watford.
Hosting Javi Gracia’s side at St James’ Park for the Premier League tie, Ayoze Perez gave us our first win of the 2018/19 campaign as he found the back of the net for his opening goal of the year and there was certainly plenty of relief and praise to go around following the full-time whistle.
One man who came in for praise was summer capture Kenedy.
The 22-year-old on-loan Chelsea man has been subject to plenty of criticism amongst the fanbase for his showings so far as big things were expected from him and he had failed to deliver. That changed against Watford and we again saw more of what he’s actually capable of so if his own form has now turned we’ll definitely reap the rewards of that.
Was incredible. Looked like the captain was still out there.

Kenedy much better today, not instrumental but was the touch/bit of class that we needed so badly. Another home game next week to really try and push on! #nufc

That tackle by Kenedy to deny them a certain goal was magnificent. The lad's got talent and heart. Fair play to Perez for responding to the critics as well. #nufc

It is only one game though and there’s plenty of hard work left to be done to prove we have turned a corner, but here’s hoping.
