Tonight, twitter is awash with reports that Newcastle’s new shirt sponsor will be Saudi Airlines and is expected to be confirmed early next week.
It has been widely acknowledged that the club’s new sponsor was likely to be a big Saudi based company since the takeover happened with the likes of Aramco and Golf Saudi in the mix, however it looks like Saudi Airlines are the frontrunners.
As @Nufc2Everything spotted, the colours of the Saudi Airlines tail fins match the new away kit colour scheme with the blue and gold.

Although still unconfirmed, it does look likely that Newcastle will be copying the likes of Manchester City in sporting their financial backers’ local airline as a main sponsor with City being sponsored by Etihad since they were taken over in 2008.
One thing all fans will very much be aware of is the outrage that is likely to follow the announcement from our most outspoken critics. It’s a safe bet that the likes of Miguel Delaney is already saddling up and mounting his high horse where he will be furiously smashing away at his keyboard.
As fans we just need to keep our heads held up and rise above the hate. As has been said many times before: who owns and deals with our club is out of our control and it shouldn’t be laid at the feet of football fans to sort out geopolitics, that’s why we have MPs and Government …. not that they seem to have an issue with dealing with Saudi Arabia.
