Newcastle United finally secured their first victory of the season on Saturday against an in-form Watford side, winning 1-0 at St. James’ Park.
Rafael Benitez’s side had picked up just two points from their opening 10 matches in the Premier League prior to the game against the Hornets but the narrow victory on Tyneside has seen the Magpies rise out of the relegation zone.
While there is plenty of work to do over the course of the coming weeks, the victory gives Newcastle a platform to build upon and Ayoze Perez earned plenty of praise on social media after scoring the only goal of the game.
Perez’s goal marked his first of the season, with Newcastle’s squad only hitting seven between them, and the Spaniard took to social media after the game to celebrate the victory – earning plenty of responses from delighted fans.
