Transfer season is rapidly approaching and the rumour mill is gathering pace. Here are some of the names linked with a move to Tyneside:
Darwin Nunez
The Benfica striker is linked almost daily with a move to Newcastle, with the latest report from The Athletic suggesting that Benfica will be keen to have the issue of Nunez’ future tied up as early in the window as possible to allow them to focus on bringing in a replacement.
Dean Henderson
The Mirror are reporting that Newcastle are stepping up their efforts to buy £20m rated shot stopper, Dean Henderson (25) from Manchester United. Henderson will be seen as a replacement for Martin Dubravka, especially given that it seems likely that Karl Darlow is likely to be moved on in the summer.
Kalvin Phillips
Football Insider claim Aston Villa and Newcastle are the leading the race for the signature of Leeds and England midfielder, Kalvin Phillips. The report also credits Manchester United with an interest, but seem to think that Newcastle or Villa would be more likely destinations. Leeds are still fighting for Premier League survival going into the final weekend of the season and their league status would likely have a heavy influence on Phillips’ future.
